Here, we don't really have winter! Temperatures remain mild in this season and it is not uncommon to enjoy the sun at Christmas.
Winter is therefore an ideal season for hiking the hiking trails or cycling on the side roads… a period conducive to slow tourism.

Enjoying the beach in winter

Here, the beach is not only in summer. Nothing like a meditation break on a deserted beach, with the rolling of the waves as background sound. The landscapes of beaches winter colors, with expanses of driftwood that the sea has left in memory of magical memories.
And yet it is not uncommon to encounter a few swimmers or children attracted by the waves… the water here is never really very cold!

Did you know?

Every January 1st, to celebrate the first day of the year, a “new year's swim” is organized on different beaches in the department.

Don't hesitate to take part in this event… laughter and good humor guaranteed!

Winter also rhymes with the end of year celebrations...

To prepare them or simply to have fun, several Christmas markets are planned in our villages and all give pride of place to local producers and creators from the surrounding area! This has become a feature of these markets, which now focus on quality and local supply. The opportunity to consume locally and promote crafts and products from the Pyrénées-Orientales.
