Coastal natural areas

à PORT-VENDRES

SITE CLASSE DE L'ANSE DE PAULILLES

Nestled on the Vermeille coast, in the hollow of the Béar and Oulestrell capes, between the sea and the vineyards, this former dynamite factory established by Alfred Nobel in 1870 underwent a spectacular redevelopment between 2006 and 2008 by the joint will of the Conservatoire du Littoral, owner, and the Department, manager.
Now a haven of peace and nature, this 32-hectare green setting highlights the history and industrial memory of the place, the discovery of the natural heritage and that of the Catalan maritime heritage through the boat restoration workshop.

From April to October, free guided tours of the site and the boat workshop (by reservation).

The Paulilles refreshment stand (open from May to October) is located below the Visitor Centre. Light refreshments (savory snacks, sweets, ice cream, etc.) are available.

Dogs are prohibited on the site, even if kept on a leash, and all year round.
A fine is applied to people who do not respect this prohibition (135 euros).
