TOUR DE L'HORLOGE

On the Quai de la Douane, the Clock Tower is the only vestige of the Redoute de la Presqu'île which was part of the fortifications designed by Vauban to defend Port-Vendres (along with the Redoute Fanal and the Redoute Béar ). During the expansion of the port, in 1929, the redoubt of the peninsula was dynamited, the clock tower will then be rebuilt identically a few meters further. The clock mechanism is on display in the hall of the Town Hall. It is located on military land.
