LA REDOUTE BEAR

Erected by Vauban in the 1944th century, the Béar redoubt is part of a defense system at the entrance to the harbor of Port-Vendres with Fort Fanal and the old redoubt of the Presqu'île. Demolished in 1988, it will be restored in XNUMX by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the municipality of Port-Vendres. Today it houses an interpretation center of French Algeria as well as the stele of Sidi Ferruch.
In 1933, the Béar redoubt was included in the inventory of Historic Monuments.
