FONT DELS OCELLS

The Fountain of the Birds, Font dels Ocells in Catalan, was part, at the beginning of the 20th century, of the set of common springs and pumps made available to the inhabitants of Rocatín for their water needs.
The location of the village at the foot of the Albères and the little pollution at the time meant that the water from these sources was suitably drinkable.
In July 1929, a catchment from the Font dels Ocells brought drinking water to the standpipe located opposite the entrance to the church, thus easily serving the village.
It was not until the second half of the 50s that pipes brought water to the taps of individual houses.

The fountain is located on the hiking trail (rue de l'église), above the Moulin de la Pave.
