Le dolmen de la Balma del Moro

The aim of this hike is to discover "La Balma del Moro", one of the 60 dolmens of the Albères massif, by walking along the paths and in the coolness of the undergrowth.

From the Tourist Office – Maison de la Randonnée, reach the Church and the center of the village.
Facing the Church gate, take rue de l'Eglise, a dead end, followed by the path, limited on the left by a stream. The path leaves the village. On the right, Moulin de la Pave (old mill) then a few meters higher, pretty shaded fountain. Bird Fountain. The path follows a half-buried pipe. At the junction, turn right. Here, small water reservoir, trail crossroads and information signs.
Take the direction DOLMEN – PIC NEULOS – COL DE L’ULLAT. To the left of the path, follow a small watering canal until you reach a strategic crossroads of paths.
 Take the path on the left. Notice a wooden, blue and white terminal. The path climbs through the vegetation. . Intersection. Continue the path which goes up to the right, following the yellow markings. New trail intersection. Take the path on the left.
The path leads to a track. Go up this track to the right. After having traveled about 200 m, the ruin of an old farmhouse appears on your left.
After this ruin, leave the track for a path on the left. Intersection of trails. To turn left. A little further on, the path runs along a fence. He's getting very pissed off.
Crossing of trails. On the right, a metal fence and gate. On the left, a path (yellow cross). Go straight ahead, the path opposite. The path climbs steeply under a chestnut grove. Intersection and signs. Turn left onto the path that goes up.
A few meters further on, take the fork that leads to the dolmen "La Balma del Moro", located on the ridge. Behind the dolmen, a small path leads to a beautiful viewpoint. Retrace your steps to the main road. Leave the path on the left and descend to the right. At the next intersection (sign + cairn), take the path that branches off to the left and descends gently into the forest. It crosses a first ravine where the Galdriq Fountain is located, continues along the hillside, and enters a different valley. The path joins an old track overgrown with vegetation and heads towards the "Correc de les Teixoneres" river.
Cross the river and continue on the path above which is the fountain of Pep. Bifurcation of paths.
Take the path to the left which joins a wide forest track. Lower it to the right.
The trail crosses the Correc de les Teixoneres stream via a ford. Continue downhill towards the plain. Intersection with the trail leading to "Parraguères". Continue downhill on the left-hand trail. After a bend, the ruins of the old farmhouse you passed at the start will appear on your right.
Follow the same route as on the way out. 200 m later, leave the track to take a path on the left that goes down into the vegetation. Trail intersection. Continue going down to the right. New intersection. Continue the descent via the left path. Trail junction. Always go down towards the village following the route taken at the start of the hike to reach the Tourist Office.
