Le Chemin de la Frigoulette
Heights of Cerbère between vineyards and seaside.
From the République car park, near the Tourist Office, cross the RD 914 and turn right into Rue Anatole France.
At the end of Rue Anatole France, turn left and take Rue du Ribéral or Rue “Dominique Mitjaville” until the tunnel.
At the tunnel, turn left and go up towards Rue Jean Barrat to pass under the railway tracks. At the exit of the tunnel, take the path which rises opposite towards the old border post.
Go along the RD 914 for 200 meters and turn right to take the wide forest track (DFCI-AL64) towards Puig dels Frare. This track leads to the foot of Serrat del Fito. At the crossroads, continue towards the DFCI-AL 64 track.
At the crow's feet, go down towards the DFCI AL67 and cross a small clearing (Pla de las Vacas). Continue on the DFCI-AL65 track to the Col d'Embarselo and the Chemin des Crêtes. Then take the small asphalt road which leads to a place called La Solane.
To shorten the hike, at the Chemin des Crêtes crossing, turn right and pass under the tunnel to reach the town centre.
Otherwise at the entrance to the housing estate, go down towards Impasse d'Al Soula, then follow Rue du Puig Carroitg. Cross the footbridge over the railway tracks with a view of the Le Belvédère du Rayon Vert hotel. Go down to the right towards the stairs and turn left to arrive in front of the Transbordeuses wagon.
