Des Dolmens à la Chapelle Saint-Laurent (VTT)

A surprising circuit with a rapid drop (Red mountain bike markings n°2)

A circuit with significant elevation gain but a short distance. A technical climb, a fast and flowing descent. Be careful!

To get to this circuit, descend from the Valmy car park towards the "Les Mimosas" campsite. Turn directly left and take the DFIC-AL-n°42 track towards the Tour de la Massane. Observe the view of the Château de Valmy by taking a little height.
Continue on this wide track, and watch on the right for the start of two paths in the direction of the Dolmen de la Cova de l'Alarb. Take the path which is very rutted by rainwater runoff. This trail enters the forest and quickly has a steep slope. Be careful, this area is crossed by numerous footpaths. Vigilance and respect required for sharing this natural space.
Continue and pass in front of the massive gate of Mas d'en Jordi to join the DFCI-AL track n°41. Go up this track to reach the pool.
Continue by turning right towards the Chapelle Saint-Laurent, taking the DFCI AL track n°39. Explore the plateau on the foothills of the Massif des Albères. This first part of the descent is gentle and rolling with bends. Be careful, from Mas Piquemal, the descent becomes steeper and the bends give way to hairpins, which increases the speed and danger on this portion. Also be careful of possible silting inside certain turns which could surprise you after a rolling stony section.
100 meters away, to the left of the Aviators' Stele, take the junction which takes you to the Saint-Laurent Chapel. The walking path opposite the chapel guides you to the DFCI AL-N°39 track.
Follow this track carefully until the foot of the Château de Valmy, the end of this loop. On the last meters, tarmac sections are used by vehicles and certainly pedestrians. Control your pace once again to avoid any accidents.
