[Balade] Promenade du Front de Mer

A course accessible to all.

A stroll between the port and the beach. The perfect outing for the whole family.

From the port car park, head to the far right of the car park to access the docks via a ramp. If you take this walk, you can also reach the quays directly by the stairs.
The first part of this walk takes you along the Vasco de Gama, Christophe Colomb and Jacques Cartier quays. Among the boats moored in the port take the time to notice the Catalan boats which are the pride of lovers of the sea.
Strolling between the shops and the quays, you will also discover the organizations that offer you sea trips. The opportunity to come back and discover the beauty of the seabed of the Côte Vermeille. (nautical excursion, scuba diving, fishing, the choice is yours). More info here
Also stop at the end of the quay to discover the fishermen who will be happy to offer you their catch of the day.
On leaving the port, cross the Massane by the metal footbridge which takes you to the seafront.
After a few tens of meters you will cross a shared walking area. Pedestrians on the paved promenade and cyclists on the dirt road on the left. Please respect these instructions to make the most of your trip.
The walk allows you to discover, over 1.5 km, the seafront view on your right and, on your left, the Argeles Photo Nature exhibition. Each year a theme is featured. In 2020, the exhibition is called "Bears and Co."
Continue your leisurely stroll to the Charles Trenet esplanade. Fountains will allow you to cool off and will delight the children. On your left, the houses give way to the shops, bars and restaurants of the beach.
Further along the route, you will find a play area for children (fee) and for adults (Casino) before finishing this walk on the cobblestones. You can also, if you wish, continue the path under the pine trees in front of you to Camping le Roussillonais. But the route is made more difficult for people with reduced mobility due to the sand.

For the return, take the path in the opposite direction, respecting the distance zones between bikes and pedestrians.
