The underwater trail

Here is a great opportunity to get to know the Mediterranean flora and fauna! Equipped with a mask, a snorkel and flippers, swim from buoy to buoy meet the marine world and the riches of the Cerbère – Banyuls nature reserve.

Along a marked and secure route, made up of buoys equipped with a handrail and allowing you to rest, explore the small rocky bottoms to discover the beauties of the Mediterranean.

In summer, the paths of the Côte Vermeille and in particular the coastal path attract many walkers.
During this period, prefer the trails in the hinterland, in the Albères, which are much calmer.

Moreover, here the forest brings shade and coolness that hikers are looking for.
Do not hesitate either to leave early in the morning when the heat is not yet too heavy.

Villeneuve de la Raho Lake

Located in Villeneuve-de-la-Raho, halfway between Elne and Perpignan, this 230 ha body of water is a great alternative for cooling off.
Take a walk around the lake on a course of around 6,7 km or take advantage of the site facilities, such as the fitness areas or pétanque.

The “Alber’Aquatic” swimming pool

This aquatic complex, located in the village of Argelès-sur-Mer, is open all year round. It offers a sports pool, a shallow learning pool and a play area for toddlers to gently learn about the water.

Exit bathing in the rivers of Albères

Swimming is prohibited in the various rivers of the Albères. Sometimes these are decisions taken for health reasons and other times for safety reasons.
In addition, it must be recognized that the summer temperatures, which get higher and higher each year, regularly dry up the rivers, leaving only a few mosquito spots in the water.
