The Schooner Miguel Caldentey, listed as a historical monument, named after its first owner, was built in 1913 by a master carpenter in Palma de Mallorca. It was used for the transport of cereals, citrus fruits and building materials. These main commercial destinations were Majorca, Barcelona, Marseilles, Sète and Port-Vendres.
Today, the Miguel Caldentey is one of the very rare examples of this type of schooner to have managed to stand the test of time. It is also the largest sailboat to undergo restoration on the French Mediterranean coast.
