First solar lighthouse in France, it was built to replace the old one which overlooked the port. Located at Cap Cerbère, a site chosen for its high cliffs, it was necessary to exclude any overhead power supply so as not to distort the landscape. This modern lighthouse, completed in 1982, is entirely powered by photovoltaic cells. Its range is 15 nautical miles.
A rest area and an admirable view of the Spanish coast make it all the charm.
