EGLISE PAROISSIALE SAINT ASSISCLE ET SAINTE VICTOIRE

The parish church of Saint Assiscle and Sainte Victoire in Sorède is a Romanesque church, inspired by Gothic elements and constructed of pebbles and bricks. It is distinguished by a bell gable above the entrance, a square tower to the south (its aesthetics were controversial in its time), and a Baroque interior where one can admire a 17th-century altarpiece of the Rosary and a Gothic vault. The nave with its transept, barely visible as it is incorporated into the castle, consists of three bays covered with false pointed vaults. Three small chapels are set into the side walls.
