The 13th century medieval tower is an unmissable site in the Albères massif. Located nearly 800 meters above sea level, the Tour de la Massane offers a fabulous panorama over the entire Roussillon plain and the Mediterranean coast. Set up by the kings of Majorca, it was used until the 18th century, serving as a watchtower but also as a landmark from the sea.
The site is only accessible on foot. Hiking routes are offered from Argelès-sur-Mer (Château de Valmy) and Sorède (Hameau de Lavail).
