Our territory is crossed by 2 European routes allowing the practice of roaming:
THEEuroVelo8, the Mediterranean Cycle Route, connects Athens to Cadiz and the Pirinexus, cross-border loop to discover the two Catalonias.
The Loops of the Albères
The Boucles des Albères alternate between nature and heritage. These routes allow you to discover the riches of our territory, in soft mobility. They are accessible to all and mainly use secondary, less busy roads, to ensure greater safety.

A certified Cyclosport area
THE Pyrenees Mediterranean Cyclosport Space is dedicated to the practice of road cycling. It offers, in the south of the Pyrénées-Orientales, a selection of 20 unmarked routesThese routes are suitable for everyone, mainly using low-traffic roads over more than 500 km.
In our territory, 4 key reception points inform you about this practice: the Tourist Offices of Banyuls-sur-Mer, Elne and Laroque-des-Albères, as well as the Maison Sport Nature of Argelès-sur-Mer in Valmy. These places also offer essential services to fans of this sporting activity.

The “Bike welcome” label

Personalized services specially dedicated to cycle tourists line our cycle routes. You will find reception points, accommodation labeled “Accueil Vélo”, as well as our Tourist Offices located in Elne, Laroque-des-Albères, Saint-André, Saint-Genis-des-Fontaines and Sorède.
If necessary, you will have access to a first-aid kit and a water point. Toilets, bicycle parking and information on the area's routes are also available.
