[Balade] La balade des fours

Discover the solar oven and the lime kiln of Sorède during this short hike.

From the Tourist Office – Maison de la Randonnée, reach the Church and the top of the village.
Facing the Church gate, take the dead end street opposite the gate then the path in the forest, limited on the left by a stream. Going up on the right, you will find the Pave mill and the Font dels Ocells (Birds fountain). The path follows a half-buried pipe. At the junction, turn right. Small water reservoir.
Here, basin, trail crossroads and information signs. Take the direction “Cabanes de Mataporcs” and follow the track to the left. At the farmhouse on the right (Mas Bordes), continue on the track while staying left. A little further on, a yellow dot on the left indicates the Malzach Fountain below.
Go up the track on the right.
At the intersection turn left
Continue straight on the track to Sorède, do not go up towards the Cabanes de Mataporcs.
 Arriving in Sorède, cross in front of the retirement home to take the path opposite (fitness trail) which goes up to the solar oven. Go back down the road via the route. A few meters away are the Mas del Ca and the Valley of the Turtles.
Head back towards the retirement home.
Take the small asphalt road which goes off to the left just after the establishment. A lime kiln is located below, do not hesitate to linger to read the explanatory panels. Continue to arrive in the Laroque des Albères sector, Chemin de la Forge.
At the end of this road, go up to the left, Chemin de la montagne (tarmac road).
Here is a dirt track. On the left is a ruined farmhouse. Continue straight then take the direction of Mas Bordes.
Take the same route as before to return to the Laroque Tourist Office.

Bring water, hat or cap, walking shoes. This route is not managed and marked by the CC-ACVI but does not present any risk. Use geolocation.
