Description

At the foot of the Fortress of Collioure stands out a small dry coming out of the water almost entirely covered with mussels hence the name of the dive site: Moulade. This site, accessible to all, offers exceptional diversity. For aquatic hikers, the shallow rocky plateau allows you to discover from the surface, starfish, sea urchins, octopus and various schools of fish, even stingrays in some years! On the diving side, by letting yourself slide along the drop-off up to 9 meters, you may have the chance to come across a seahorse. Keeping the reef with your right shoulder, a cleaning station appears where damselfish and sars share the place alongside lesser cleaner wrasse. Delighted by this spectacle, then spinning 15 meters deep to reach the coralligenous, we discover on this living reef, dozens of holes sheltering beautiful lobsters, mostelles and conger eels. By exploring the top of the "potatoes", we notice between parazohantus and hydroids, various slugs, each more colorful than the other, thuridilles, giant dories, flabellines and the famous banyulensis endemic to our Coast. Back at a shallower depth, returning to the rocky plateau, a huge fault emerges by separating the rock in two. The left wall is absolutely exceptional and is totally covered by a multitude of sponges. Then go up inside the fault while returning to the "roof" where barracudas and mules twirl against the light. The dive ends in a magical atmosphere and makes La Moulade an extraordinary dive site due to the different environments it brings together. diving over an hour for the happiness of all divers!
