A military atmosphere with the spirituality of a hermitage through breathtaking landscapes
Follow the Glacis car park exit and get off at the roundabout. Cross the street and go up in front of the Church (Rue du Temple). Pass under the railway line, continue Rue de la Galère at the crossroads of Chemin de Consolation and turn left to leave the village.
Pass under the viaduct and continue opposite towards the Sainte-Thérèse Oratory. Take the path on the left, at the level of the small bridge.
Take the wide paved path that leads to Consolation. Continue on the path before taking the stairs on the left, in the rock, to reach the hermitage. Beyond, the path runs along a fenced vineyard and continues in the scrubland. The path is increasingly steep to reach the RD 86 and the Col de la Serre.
At the Col de la Serre, leave the road and go up the path to the left. Arriving at Mas de la Serra, continue on the left path and climb a steep slope towards the Battery of Taillefer.
Go back down towards the Col de Taillefer and continue your path opposite to reach the Tour de la Madeloc after several bends. Take advantage of the exceptional panorama of the Côte Vermeille, the Tour de la Massane and the Plaine du Roussillon.
Go down a small road to the Battery of 500 and take the stony path opposite which joins the GR 10 on the right. Do not go towards the Col des Gascons.
Leave the path to the left and continue to the right towards the Col de Vallauria to bypass the Massif de Madeloc via the Col de Formingo then Vallauria. Several ruins will be on your way.
At the crossroads, take the path on the right for 50 meters, and continue to the right, always keeping the Tour de la Madeloc in view. Follow this path on the side of the hills to the Col de la Serre.
Return to the Mas de la Serra hut and continue to the left. At point 4, follow the itinerary in the opposite direction, first by the road then by the path which descends towards Notre-Dame-de-Consolation and Collioure.
