Please note: The section of the path which runs along the cliff between the beach of Ouille and the Camping des creques de Porteils is open from 8 am to 21 pm in order to respect the tranquility of the customers of the campsite. Outside these hours please circumvent the route by the track which will take you to the beach of Ouille from the entrance of the said campsite under the SNCF bridge. You enjoy nature, you like it, take in care...You are taking a hiking trail along which regular household waste collection points are available to you. Out of respect for this exceptional space borrowed each month by tens of thousands of hikers and walkers, we invite you to drop off all your waste (glass, paper, leftover food, etc.) and any waste you may unfortunately discover during your walk at these collection points. but essential, let's keep this site clean, as nature has graciously offered it to us.

From the Château de Valmy car park, take the path down to the Château cellar at the entrance to the car park. You will follow the Château de Valmy vineyard for more than a kilometer, staying on the dirt track.
After going along the expressway for about 200m, cross the tunnel and take the path on your left in the direction of Mas Perillot. After crossing the SNCF track and crossing the hamlet of Mas Perillot you will find yourself at the crossroads of the RD 914.
Cross the road carefully and continue towards Le Racou using the cycle path which is protected from road traffic. At the end of the track, cross over and continue straight on at the roundabout.
After a few meters on your right, a wooden footbridge which spans the Valmarie stream invites you to continue the hike in the shade of a forest.
Continue on the hilly path which passes behind the hamlet of Le Racou. Leaving this hamlet, take a section of steep tarmac road, you then reach the famous coastal path.
The road gives way to a track, then a sometimes eroded path, but from now on the points available to you will capture your attention.
You will cross by the beach the creeks of Racou, Porteils, to the creek of Ouille which delimits the border between Argelès-sur-Mer and Collioure. The many viewpoints will allow you to better appreciate the sudden change between the sandy coast that you have just abandoned and the rocky coast that is offered in front of you.
From the beach of Ouille cross the Ravaner and continue your way thanks to the stairs cut in the schist. The climb becomes much steeper, you will quickly gain height and even better appreciate the panorama. Be careful to stay on the route of the path, the cliff is very close. You will come across a concrete construction remnant of the 2nd World War, then go down again by a reduced path.
At Font d'en Bertran, the path takes a footbridge which overlooks the old path at the foot of the cliff, now prohibited because it is too dangerous. A few meters further on, a wooden log staircase comes to you. This is the last big test before arriving in Collioure. Count the steps or go up the pace to give yourself courage!
At the top of the stairs, the path runs along the fortifications of Fort Rodon, Fort Carré and Fort Miradoux, property of the Ministry of Defense and training ground for CNEC Commandos.
Cross the car park and turn left to descend the very steep slope to the entrance to Collioure. At the roundabout turn left onto Avenue du Mirador to enter Collioure, with a direct view of the famous bell tower.
Cross the beach of Boramar which will allow you to discover the bay of Collioure, the Royal Castle and the Fort St-Elme which rises in front of you in the massif.
Go up the street without crossing the Douy and at Rue de la République turn right to start the return.
After crossing the stadium car park in the opposite direction, turn left to discover the fortifications of Fort Carré and Fort Rodon. Return to the road that leads to the Girelle campsite and before entering the campsite take the small staircase that will take you to the Ouille beach.
Passing in front of the Porteils creeks campsite, continue straight ahead parallel to the SNCF track to reach Le Racou.
Before returning to Valmy, a cool break is essential. So take a detour to Racou beach before returning to the RD 914 cycle path to Valmy, your terminus.
