Du Château de Valmy à Banyuls par le Pic Sallfort et le sentier Walter Benjamin

From the Valmy car park, take the direction of Camping Les Mimosas.
Before the campsite, take the DFCI AL42 track.
follow the direction of the dolmens and linger for a few minutes.
At this point, turn right.
And at this intersection, go left
At the next intersection turn right, arriving at a picnic table. Continue on the DFCI AL41Ter track.
Do not go right towards the Col de la Place d'Armes, continue towards the Col d'en Verderol (787m) and the Cassagnes source.
Arrival at the Pic de Sailfort (983m).
Go down towards the Pic d’Estella (Liberty Passage) and the Pla de les Eres.
After passing in front of the Stele of the escapees from France (357m), arrive at the Col de Banyuls. Then take the dirt track on the left, it passes in front of the border cross 591
Continue on the path which rises towards the Col de Llop and the Pic de la Calme then continue towards the Col del Tourn (passage de la Liberté, 606m), the Puig Jrda (753m), the Col Del Teixo, the Col des Empedrats, the Pla del Ras.
Arrived at the Col de Rumpissa, then go back down the rocky path to the track passing by the Font del Bana. Go down this track.
Begin another steep descent to the foot of an electricity pylon and then cut through a grove of cork oaks. Gently descend to a dirt track. Take the path on the left that cuts across the hill.
Arrived at the Col del Bast, descend towards the Puig del Mas in Banyuls by a cemented track then a dirt track. Continue on the tarmac track and cross the dry bed of the Vall d'Auger
Take the Boulevard des Evadés de France on the right. Pass in front of the Memorial dedicated to Lisza Fittko and Walter Benjamin. Continue across the square and turn right then left.
Cross the Pont Gris and turn right onto Avenue du Général de Gaulle. Follow the Baillaury River for a few dozen meters. At the end of the avenue, turn right to reach the Tourist Office.
