Description

From the Luna Park car park, two options are available to you. First possibility: go north, cross the Equinoxe campsite, the ford, and find access to the Mas Larrieu nature reserve. The Argelès-sur-Mer tourist office offers guided walks. In addition, signs from the dune discovery circuit are accessible all year round to understand the management, history, flora and fauna of this site, classified as a coastal conservatory. To reach the coastal path, you just need to follow the sea towards the south. Cross the mouth of the Riberette river….and continue towards Argelès beach.
Another possibility: go on your right towards Argelès-sur-Mer. Leave the road to follow the leisure park and the Riberette, on your left, which flows into the sea a little further on. A first ford allows you to cross a ditch. Follow the path which briefly winds through the undergrowth where a second ford lined with reeds awaits you. Once out of the shade, take the road to the right, then reach the beach on your left, passing along the Marende car park.
Now continue your route on the right, with your feet in the sand. Pay attention to the vegetation that grows here and there because it helps maintain the beach! In the depression called “Tamariguer”, take the walk under the pines. Lined with signs describing certain remarkable sites, it will naturally lead you to the port.
Cross the Massane by the bridge, and take the quays on your left, welcoming fishermen and yachtsmen.
Leave the platforms via the stairs which lead to the car park before the technical area of the port. Join the cycle path towards “Le Racou”. This track will take you to a path to take to bypass the Racou wetland on the left. Possibility of stopping on the beach to observe this wetland, as well as the fauna and flora that develop there. This part of the trail ends at the Racou car park.
