As part of the summer visits, the Sorède Tourist Office offers you, with the support of the PASTOR association, a hike on the theme "2000 years of history": Through the interpretation of the landscapes encountered, we will discover the significant aspects, anecdotal or not, of the history of our village and its surroundings. We will also take the opportunity to discuss, at the turn of the road, the trees and plants typical of our Mediterranean forest. Finally, our efforts will be rewarded, in a magnificent site, by an exceptional sight on the plain of Roussillon. We will see the sundial, the fountains and cross the Tassio to reach the place of Christ. The old Way of the Cross will lead us to the hermitage of Notre-Dame du Château. Along the way, we will discover a millstone mill still in its gangue of stone, casots and tallats, these terraces so typical of our village. After a break at the hermitage, we continue the ascent to the Visigothic castrum and the ruins of the castle of Ultrera from where we will see the location of the solar furnace Padre Himalaya, then we will return to the hermitage for the meal. After that, we will go down quietly to the village. Level: medium to difficult Total distance: 9 km Ascent: 450 m You need: good walking shoes, water, hat and a lunch.
